2026/2027 Season Classes Released

What’s changing from last season classes?

No “program” classes. This year no classes will be organized based on outside competitive/school programs. This does not stop athletes from attending classes with other athletes of their same program. It simply means a class can be made up of athletes from any outside program or athletes not part of outside programs.

No set weekly class spot. We are switching from set weekly class spots to a “class credits” system to increase flexibility in all the schedules. This will allow athletes to pick which class dates/time to attend when it fits their busy, ever-changing schedules. Athletes will have a chance to purchase credits in advance to use over the duration of that class. It also means athletes don’t have to worry about missing a class, because they can cancel that class on their own and get their credit back to use another day. (Credits explained further down.)

Coaching hour to prioritize classes. In our previous seasons, the total coaching hours each week were a 50/50 split between classes and private lessons. With so many athletes wanting to get in, we are prioritizing classes more this season to allow more athletes studio time. Next season coaching hours will be an 80/20 split of classes to private lessons.

Classes or Private Lessons, not both. For existing private lesson athletes, we will continue the approach from this summer where athletes can either choose to do classes or private lessons, but not both at same time. As stated above, there will be fewer private lessons each week from last year, so private lessons will be maxed at 2 a month.

Coaching days. The last 2 season, classes and lessons were held on Monday to Thursday and Saturday. This season classes and private lessons will all be held on Tuesday to Saturday.

Spring Sessions. Spring sessions will not be available for enrollment until mid-February. Spring sessions will be 8 weeks long in April & May. These will be classes with emphasis on strengthening individual skills technique/connections/variations. Think “spring intensives” or “spring training”.

Tumbling class name changes. Going forward, there will be a slight change to how tumbling classes named; giving classes a clear level of progression as athletes learn higher skills.

→ Beginner Tumbling will be called “Tumbling 1”

→ Intermediate Tumbling will be called “Tumbling 2”

→ Advanced Tumbling will be called “Tumbling 3”

→ More advanced skills/connections/variations will be “Tumbling 4” or higher

What is the 2026/2027 class schedule?

Schedule Notes:

→ We will offer two classes of Acro 2, Junior High Acro, High School Acro, Tumbling 2, and High School Tumbling.

→ Level 3 classes will be the only season classes that will not run the full duration of September to March.

Acro 3 will be held 11 weeks in September to November.

Tumbling 3 will be held 10 weeks in December to February.

→ An Athletes does not have to be on a school cheer or dance team to attend a Junior High or High School class.

→ While all Junior High and High School classes will run September to March, beginning in January these classes will become tryout-prep focused. Athletes in a Junior High or High School class can not register for Tryout Prep Clinics in March; which are intended to help additional athletes prepare for tryouts.

→ Acro 1 and Tumbling 1 (~ages 5-8) will be offered in April & May, along with our 8-week Spring Sessions. Tiny Tumble and Tiny Acro (~ages 5 & under) will not be offered this upcoming season.

How will the “Class Credits” system work?

Purchase Class Credits for a season class. At the end of July, athletes will have a opportunity to purchase Class Credits to attend a season class. Athletes can buy Class Credits for only one class level (Acro 2, Jr High Acro, HS Thumbling, etc….). You will use these credits to register for the classes they want to attend for that class level. If a class is offered twice a week, athletes can use their Class Credits to attend either day/time their class level is offered. We will refund any Class Credits that remain unused at the end of the class duration.

This system also allows much more flexibility when athletes have last minute schedule changes. If you book a class and later realize you can no longer make it, you simply cancel the registration for that class, and you will automatically?? get that credit back to use for a different class day. Our goal with the Class Credits system is give athletes greater flexible and provide an easier way to work around any outside commitments.

Cost of Class Credits. The cost of each credit will be the same 1-hour class rate as previous seasons, at $40 per class. The only difference is this season all classes will be a one-time upfront purchase (instead of monthly tuition for some classes).

Number of Class Credits. There is a maximum number of Class Credit that will be sold. That number is determined by the number of total class spots for each class level. We will not sell more Class Credits than class spots available. We will offer the credit for purchase until they are sold out.

The number of credits an athlete can purchase is based on their active enrollment in classes in the past 2 years. An athlete had to be enrolled in a class for at least 90% of the class’s duration to be considered active. If an athlete was enrolled in a class at The Flip Side in the 2024-2025 season or 2025 summer, they are considered to be active in classes in Year 1. If an athlete was enrolled in a 2025-2026 season class (28-week, 12-week or 8-week class) or 2026 summer, they are considered to be active in classes in Year 2.

** For September to March Classes: Athletes active in BOTH years can purchase 14 Class Credits to use over the duration of the season. Athletes active in only one of those years can purchase 10 Class Credits. If there are still credits left at that point, we will offer 5 credits to athletes that have been a class fill-in previously, in a Flip-in-Friday, or Clinic as of July 31st.

** For Level 3 Classes: Athletes active in BOTH years can purchase 6 Class Credits to use over the duration of the season. Athletes active in only one of those years can purchase 4 Class Credits. If there are still credits left at that point, we will offer 2 credits to athletes that have been a class fill-in previously, in a Flip-in-Friday, or Clinic as of July 31st.

What is the process for registering for a season classes?

Purchasing Class Credits. We will stagger the access to purchasing credits based on an athlete’s active enrollment in the past 2 years. (See “Number of Credits” above to determine active years status). We will email links to purchase credits on the following days:

→ July 27th for athletes that have been active for BOTH years.

→ July 28th for athletes that have been active for only one of the last 2 years.

→ July 29th for athletes that have been a class fill-in previously, in a Flip in Friday, or Clinic as of July 31st.

Find your athlete’s class level and complete the purchase of Class Credits. You will get an automated purchase confirmation email.

For parents that have two or more athletes, you will have to make two separate purchases, because you be required to indicate which athlete that package of credits is for. If your athletes have not been active the same number of years, please only purchase the appropriate package for each athlete.

When we receive the order, we will confirm the athlete was eligible for purchasing Class Credits on that date and confirm the class level purchased is the right fit for the athlete. If there is an issue with anything, we will reach out to you directly to fix the issue.

Once we confirm everything, we will send you a direct email with that athlete’s registration date and their unique code to use when registering for classes. This code will be assigned the exact number of Class Credits purchased and can only be use for your class level. It is our goal to send the email with your code within 48 hours of purchasing the credits.

Before Registration Opens. There will be about 1.5 weeks to 2 weeks between purchasing your Class Credits and your class registration date. During this time, we recommend athletes determine which class dates they prefer to attend. Consider outside practice schedules, school sporting events, competition dates, or any other event that may impact the best dates for you to attend. We also recommend you reference our 2026/2027 Important Dates Calendar at the end of the post that shows the dates the studio will be closed next season.

Class Registration Opens. Registration dates will also be staggered based on an athlete’s active enrollment in the past 2 years. On your designated registration date, you will receive an email with the link for your class level to begin booking classes.

The class dates will be available to book two months in advance. Meaning, when you first get access to register, only classes in September and October will be available. Going forward, the next month of classes will open on the next first day of the month at noon. EX) November class dates will open September 1st at noon.

→ You will need your unique code to complete the booking process.

→ Booking classes will not be available through the app.

→ If you have multiple athletes, you will need to complete separate bookings.

→ It is preferred athletes attend no more than 1 class per week; unless there are not enough class dates remaining or dates that work in your schedule to spread your credits out.

→ If your athlete does not plan on trying out for a school program in the Spring of 2027, we encourage you to use your Class Credits more in the months of September to December. If your athlete wants to focus more on prepping for tryouts, you may consider using more of your credits in the months of January to March.

Can I join a list for athletes that are willing to fill in if there is an unfilled spot in class?

Class fill-ins. On the occasion when we have an unfilled spot or a last-minute cancelation, we invite athletes not in classes to fill in for that class day. We call these athletes “Alternates”. We will create an Alternates List for each class level. If a class level is offered twice a week, Alternates will be invited to both class options.

Become an Alternate. From August 19th to 23rd, we will open an Alternate Interest Form for any athlete to complete if they want to be contracted to fill in an open spot. The link to the form will be available in the bio of The Flip Side Instagram account. Anyone that has not purchased Class Credits can be an Alternate (including existing private lesson athletes). Please confirm you can actually make the class time(s) for the class level you want before submitting the Alternate Interest Form. Once the submission period closed, we will determine who will be the Alternates. While the order we receive submissions may be considered, we will give initial priority to existing athletes, then athletes that have attended a Flip in Friday or clinic previously, and then new athletes. We will take 30 athletes for each class level. You will receive an email letting you know you are on the Alternate List for which class level.

How being an Alternate works. We will give registered class athletes access to fill all open spots until the day of the class. If there is an open spot on the day of the class, that morning we will send an email to the Alternate List for that class level; along with a link to register for that spot. It will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. For filling in a last-minute spot, Alternates will get 25% off the normal $40 class price. Once you complete payment, your spot to fill in that day is secured. Once an athlete has filled in 5 class spots, they will be removed from the list to give the other Alternates a chance to attend a few classes.

What all can I register for?

For athletes in a class. If the duration of your class is still running, you are only eligible for the class. You can not book private lessons, be an Alternate, or register for Flip in Fridays. Once your class ends (and before your class starts if your in Tumbling 3), you can book private lessons if you are an existing private lesson athlete, otherwise you can sign up for Flip in Fridays. Athletes in a Junior High or High School class can not register for Tryout Prep Clinics in March.

For private lesson athletes not in a class. If you are an existing private lesson athlete, you can book up to 2 private lessons a month. You can sign up to be an Alternate for one class level, and you can register for Tryout Prep Clinics in March. You can not register for Flip in Fridays.

For 5 Class Credit athletes. If you were able to purchase 5 Class Credits, you can not be an Alternate. Once your class ends, you can register for Flip in Fridays. You can register for Tryout Prep Clinics in March.

For all other athletes. You can sign up to be an Alternate for one class level. You can register for Flip in Fridays and for Tryout Prep Clinics in March.
